The Camping Trip That Started It All

Yosemite: Vogelsang HSC

Twenty- and thirty-somethings have had enough of the ringtones, emails, and status updates. We have flashbacks of life pre-smart phones and pop-up notifications. We are in need for fresh air, solace, and no WIFI. We’re heading towards the one place we can achieve this, the outdoors.

We are finding ourselves wanting to be cradled by nature, remembering family camping trips from years past. We are remembering our time spent gazing up before bedtime, watching for that falling star as our fathers pointed out the different constellations.

We are making new memories with friends and significant others, who much like us, are in need of slowing down. We are escaping the big cities to find peace among the trees and lakes that live just beyond our laptop screens. Logout, turn off, and unplug, even if it’s just for a little bit.

As a Design Strategist and Creative Facilitator, I focus on social innovation, human-centered design, and purpose-driven initiatives that create positive change in the world. I love finding ways for organizations to make a huge impact in unexpected places. Working with others who are working towards creating positive change, I use design as my tool to help them do this in a better way. In a playful workshop environment, I help Fortune 500 companies to startups, non-profits to universities, come up with fun, achievable, and innovative solutions to challenges. My prefer method is making. With a background in both web and graphic design, I bring ideas to life so others can see what’s possible.
